Fox Valley Collaborative

Here's a link to our application.  We are currently accepting freshmen and sophomores, but eighth graders may apply for fall 2011 admission. 

We will have approximately 20 slots to fill for this coming fall due to our senior class graduating.  We are looking for lots of applications to choose from, so please apply! 

If you have any questions in regards to filling out the application, please contact us.  When your application is complete, please mail it to or drop it off at our office, located at 128 N. Oneida St., Appleton, WI  54911. Only complete applications will be accepted!

Our tutoring sessions are one of the most important components of the Upward Bound program.  These sessions are mandatory unless students are in a school-related extra-curricular activity.

One Saturday a month, we will be meeting at Fox Valley Tech for test prep, guest speakers, teambuilding, and other activities.  We might also do either a campus field trip, cultural activity, or other field trip.  Following are the dates on which Saturday programs are planned (these dates are subject to change, and we will let you know in advance if that is case).  Times of activities are generally from 10:00am--2:00pm.

October 24th--the Commons

    Our first program of the year serves as an orientation for students and parents.  Parents attend from 10:00am-11:30am, students stay until 2:00pm.  We'll be covering many important topics, such as our yearly calender, our new student handbook, and summer program evaluations.

November 21st--C190 B&C

    Merry Christmas everyone! We'll be starting the day off with some financial literacy, and after lunch we'll be playing some Christmas games, maybe even watch a Christmas movie. Dress Christmas-y if you'd like!

   This month, in honor of Black History Month, we'll be watching Spike Lee's "Malcolm X". The movie is 2 hours long, so we will need to start promptly at 10:00am to fit it in before lunch. Please make sure you arrive on time! After lunch, we'll discuss the movie and do an activity about stereotyping.

March 13th--A161 A&B

   10:00am-2:00pm

   We'll be finishing up "Malcolm X" first, so please be punctual! After that, we're going to have a serious talk about some issues we've been having. Then, it's everybody's favorite time: LUNCH! After lunch, Abby & Chris will be leading you in some activities while Mr. Baker and I talk to each senior individually.
